Mark your calendars and get ready for the start of the VT Hokies football game watching season as we take on ECU in a ESPN televised game. Breakfast burritos & Bloody Marys and some good hard hitting Hokies football are on the menu at Sharkeez - Newport Beach (just off the Newport Beach Pier). So, join your fellow OC Hokies Alumni as we begin the quest for another ACC Title.

Special guest is Barbara LaPorte, mother of Matthew LaPorte, a freshman at Virginia Tech, who sadly was one of the thirty two victims of April 16, 2007. We welcome you in Hokie Spirit. The Virginia Tech Softball team will be out here in southern California playing in the Long Beach State Invitational, the weekend of March 7-9 (see the schedule here at this link: Click Here. Irvine’s Erin Ota a Jr. from Northwood High is one of the team’s stars, along with All-American pitcher Angela Tincher.

Looks like a great chance to root on the Lady Hokies and maybe help them climb in the national rankings.

Are you going through withdrawal from habing our with fellow Hokie Alum? Well not for long.....OUr beloved Hokies are traveling to TarHell Country on Saturday February 16 for a great basketball game. Tip off is at 10:00am, we need this win with the slump we are currently going through in the ACC. Let`s show the nation and Orange County that we can beat UNC!
Sharkeez will be hosting us again and would love to see us all back for a great game!

To all you Hokies suffering from football withdrawal, this might help a little bit. Hokie Basketball!!! Virginia Tech vs.. #3 Duke on Thursday night (Tip off at 4 PM PST). The game will be on ESPN, and Sharkeez has agreed to show the game and give us sound. This is late notice, so it is more of an announcement than an invitation. There will be several OC Hokies there, so come and join them.

Here is a game that you can put on your calendars, VT plays UNC on Saturday February 16 at 10 AM PST. This will be another nationally televised game that Sharkeez will show. An e-vite will be forthcoming for that game.

Come on out to Sharkeez to see if the state of North Carolina can redeem itself for Tech`s UNC-Duke sweep in hoops last year (not to mention all those football losses ).

11-1 Kansas will battle our 11-2 Hokies on 1/3/2008 in the Orange Bowl. Special note: Hokies go for their first BCS Bowl Game win - this is huge! Come out to Sharkeez and join the party!

Please join us for the rematch of the year!!!! BC takes on VT as our Hokies battle the Golden Eagles for the ACC Championship and the right to go to the Orange Bowl.

The big finish... for all the marbles. The winner of this game goes to the ACC Championship game to play Boston College. I know I`m not the only one that wants another shot at BC. But first things first. With both VT and UVA being 9-2, the high stakes, and the tradition of this in state rivalry game this is sure to be a huge event. Join us for this last regular season game of the year. We have invited the local UVA Alumni Club of OC to join us.

One of our favorite rivals, Miami, comes to town. With two more wins VT is in the ACC Championship game. TV coverage is only regional on ABC, so come out to Sharkeez for some friends, fun, sun, and the game. See you there!

Only 3 more wins needed, FSU, Miami, and Virginia, and VT plays in the ACC Championship game for a chance at a BCS Bowl Game. The game is televised on ABC but is only in regional coverage. Sharkeez will have the game for us. Come out and watch the Hokies beat FSU!

Help kickoff the VT-ENGAGE campaign. Become ENGAGED in the university motto - UT PROSIM (That I may serve). Join your fellow Hokie Alumni at El Torito Grill in Fashion Island Tuesday, October 16 at 6pm for Taco Tuesday, Live Music, and a Good Time.

The purpose of VT-ENGAGE is to join the university and community through service. Members of the university community, Virginia Tech alumni, and family and friends of Virginia Tech are asked to commit and complete at least 10 hours of community service by the end of the spring 2008 semester. Tyrod`s first ACC test against new head coach Butch Davis` UNC team. This is the same UNC team that nearly beat Miami. Should be a great test for our team!
