Angela Tincher Named Collegiate Softball Player of the Year
The Amateur Softball Association, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, announced today the selection of Virginia Tech`s Angela Tincher (Eagle Rock, Va.) as the recipient of the Seventh Annual USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award. After being a top 10 finalist in 2007, Tincher has dominated the competition in 2008 with a nation-best 0.62 ERA.

Hokies are World Series Bound!!!
The Hokie Women`s Softball Team continues its magical season. Now they are on their way to Oklahoma City for the College Softball World Series. If you`ve never watched softball before its time to start. So far most all the games have been televised on ESPN. The Hokies have perhaps the best pitcher in the country. They call her `Tinch`, which is short for Angela Tincher. The Hokies take on 5th seeded Texas A&M on Thursday, May 29th at 2:00PM Central Time. Game will be televised on ESPNHD. GO HOKIES!!!!

VT Softball Pulls Out Once in a Lifetime Victory!
Virginia Tech`s Angela Tincher pitched a no-hitter in a 1-0 win over the three-time defending Olympic gold medalists Wednesday night, ending the U.S. team`s 185-game winning streak in pre-Olympic exhibitions.

The Yankees Came to Blacksburg
After making a huge 1 million dollar donation to Tech the Yankees also committed to play an exhibition game with the Hokie Baseball team. Today was an emotional day that ended with an 11-0 Yankee victory. But the score didn`t matter... the smiles did.
